Recent races: St. George Marathon, Olympic Trials Marathon, Moab 5 miler.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run faster. I'd like to win a race or two. I want to smarter and harder and increase my mileage without increasing my injuries.

I'd also like to keep up with this and my other blog. You can check it out at novicexpert.blogspot.com. I don't keep track of my workouts there (just random thoughts on running), so the two don't really interfere.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to win at least one marathon, make a better showing at the next Olympic Trials, try a few ultra-marathons and finish a 100-miler.

Personal:

I lead a simple life. I teach a couple of times a week and run. A lot. I also climb and ski (both snow and water) whenever I get a chance.  I think I'm addicted to sunshine.

i know i know, more easy miles by lisa. but tom told me to back off the hard stuff, that i was running too many hard miles.  good excuse, hey. anywho, i'd like to do a nice hard run monday so i thought i'd just long a whole slew of miles and then rest up on sunday like i always do. this was two runs, not one. again, on canal roads, which although they feel great on my body are a bit boring after i've run them over and over and over again in just a few days. there are a few different sets of canal roads new my parents' but 38 miles of them in two days is ...plenty.

Is Tom your coach?

So how many weeks above 100 does this make (I get credit instead of Tom for your first 100 week, remember?)?

Just curious, I live in So. Jordan and run on the canal road that is just east of Bingham High. Do you ever run on that one? I like the canal roads also, they seem a lot easier on the ol' body, though I know what you mean about them getting boring.

that's the one. i also run on the one next that runs parallel to redwood rd and one that runs parallel to 13th...i find the current construction quite annoying. i have to get off the one next to 27th for a mile because of gaping holes. had to run past a caterpillar at 118th south today. hope the guy didn't mind. seemed to see me.

I know what you mean about the construction. I pretty much just stay on the canal road by Bingham and the one just north of that that hits into 90th So. The next time I see a speedy runner coming by I'll assume it's you and say hi.
