ran hard today for the first time this week. felt really good. a confession though, i ran inside. i just didn't feel like the weather was conducive to running hard the way i wanted. so, 2 mile warm up on the indoor track and then i headed upstairs to the treadmill. yay! i got my favorite one. yes, i have a fav. treadmill at the fieldhouse. i did 6x1mile hard w/ an easy mile between each. pace: 6:00, 6:00, 5:56, 5:52, 5:49, 5:42. i recovery runs (about 8:49-ssssssuuuper slow) felt soooooooo good. made me ready for more fast stuff each time. then, 2 mile cool down on the track. one of my favorite students ever ran those last two with me. i really appreciated that. saved me mentally. i was getting bored of the same walls by then. oh and for all those who think i'm going to suddenly chat about last week's race, too bad. it's not that i'm mad or even upset or anything. i'm just past it. i ran poorly and what i need to do now is move on and be positive, train hard, etc etc. |
